Interview with ANCESTRAL CANTICO - FILTHY DOGS OF METAL (1)

!!!BLACK METAL FROM BRAZIL!!!

We had a conversation with Herege (Vocals). Enjoy!

Welcome to the FILTHY DOGS OF METAL Webzine.

Tell us a few things about ANCESTRAL CÂNTICO (Members, Starting Year etc).
Greetings from Grand Pindorama, we are from the land without salvation of Salvador, Bahia/Brazil. Here the person speaking to you is Herege, lead singer of Ancestral Cântico - The curse of ancient times… This saga began in 2001, when I composed the first hymns that were recorded on Ancestral Cântico's first album, which was born from the union of two individualist manifestations (Cântico Pagão by warrior woman H.A.T.T.E. and Dizeres Profanos R.I.M. founded by me), the popular ones today: "one man band", in this case the first one mentioned a "one woman band". By uniting Cântico Pagão with Dizeres Profanos R.I.M., we formed: Cântico Pagão & Dizeres Profanos Ancestrais (Black/Death Metal - Salvador, Bahia/Brazil), in which we released numerous live records. In 2014 we decided to shorten the nomenclature: Cântico Pagão & Dizeres Profanos Ancestrais, to: Ancestral Cântico.
The current formation is a sextet composed by me, Nigrum Solís better known as Herege, assuming the role of vocalist. In spoken ancestral vocals and bass, we have: Ad Voce Luna, better known as H.A.T.T.E. (mentor and founder of Cântico Pagão, illustrator at Scarab Obscure Art and tattoo artist at Hatte Tattoo Studio). On the rhythm guitar, we have Pa Zv Zv, who edits Noctem Malefícis Zine, best known as the mentor and founder of: Domminvs Infernalis (Black Metal - Salvador, Bahia/Brazil), who in addition to the rhythm guitar, also does the evocative vocals, this came to be consolidated in the current formation of Ancestral Cântico in 2020, but if we take into account his presence and sporadic sound passages with us, he has already been with us since 2009. On drums, since the end of last year, Mütiilation has taken on the role of drummer, on lead guitar we have Lord Haxän, who has taken on this role since the beginning of this year 2024, both are from Haxan Chaos (Blackened Death/Thrash Metal - Salvador , Bahia/Brazil). On keyboards we have a session member/live member - Krucifier, keyboardist of Domminvs Infernalis (Black Metal), who has been with us since the end of last year.To date we have 13 releases. Our first full-length of 2015 - “Ancestrais Dizeres Profanos”, which came out on CD (Jewel Case), firstly via Rex Serpentis Fidelis (Prod. & Distro), which is our small audiovisual production company that also works as a distro. The Rex Serpentis Fidelis (Prod./Distro) is an organization that fights for the development of underground and worthy productions for those who support the underground cause and praise the flame of the underworld! The following year, in mid-2016, this was re-released in a small print run by Padilhos Realizações, Asmoug's circle here in Bahia as well, in CD (Jewel Case) format. In 2017, we released the demo: “Anti as Pragas Abraâmicas Judaica / Cristã / Islâmica”, by Rex Serpentis Fidelis (Prod. & Distro), in CDr format (plastic insert). At the beginning of 2018, after closing a pact with the manifestation Ungodly Priest (Black Metal - Olinda, Pernambuco, Brazil), we released the split: “Entidades Profanas”, by Rex Serpentis Fidelis (Prod. & Distro) in partnership with Hellfire Distro from Pernambuco, in CD format (Jewel Case). That same year, in March, we released the demo rehearsal: “Em Honra dos Antigos”, by Rex Serpentis Fidelis (Prod. & Distro), in CDr format (plastic insert). In November of that same year, the split: “Aliados Ancestrais Sobre o Caos Infernal” (2018), split with Solve et Coagula (Black Metal - Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil), by Brazilian record labels: Raw Music Production (MG), Baptism of Fire Distro (RN), HellFire (PE) and Rex Serpentis Fidelis (BA), in CD format (Jewel Case). And to close the year 2018, at the end of December our second full-length was released: “Cânticos Lunares” (2018), which has only been released in tape format (K7) until today. Firstly by the Brazilian record label: Secutor Brutal Music (SP) and later a Bolivian version by Vociferos Malditos Producciones in 2019, in a tape version as well. In 2020, our first EP was released: "O Caminho dos Rebelados (Manifesto)", by the Brazilian record label: Black Hearts Records (São Paulo/Brazil) by Paulo Olaguivel Cadena, on CD (Jewel Case), which took our sound condensed into concrete format in an ultra professional way for the 4 corners of Brazil. That same year, on August 13th, which is marked by the memory of the day of Jon Nödtveidt's death from Dissection, we released, in honor of him, the demo: "Locus Solus", by Rex Serpentis Fidelis (Prod. & Distro), version CDr (plastic insert). Still in 2020 there was a split: "Aqua Abyss e o Prelúdio da Imortalidade", with Exequial (Black Metal - Taboão da Serra, São Paulo, Brazil). Split was first released in tape format (K7) by Secutor Brutal Music and CD (Jewel Case) by Rex Serpentis Fidelis (Prod. & Distro). In 2021, Secutor Brutal Music relaunched it in Digifile format. In 2022, this same release was re-released by Sangue Underground Records (SP/Brazil) in partnership with Secutor Music Brutal Music, in digipack and tape format.
In 2021 we released the split: “Caminhos Devasdados Onde a Escuridão Prevalece", with Catölishit (Blackened Crust/Death Metal SP/ES - Brazil), this first came out on tape and later on CD (plastic insert) + 20cm patch and poster, both releases made by Sangue Underground Record (São Paulo, Brazil) in partnership with Desgraça Na Terra Records (Serra, Espírito Santo, Brazil). That same year there was also the split: Anti Christian Domain of Hell, which is a 4 way split with Diabállein (Black Metal - Monte Alto, São Paulo, Brazil) / Cadaveric Infection (Black/Death Metal - Cabo de Santo Agostinho, Pernambuco , Brazil) / Hell Abyss (Black/Thrash Metal - Dois Vizinhos, Paraná, Brazil), an artifact that also has an intro made by Leandro Kastiphas (keyboard) and Paulo Brasil (voice) - the duo behind Nigrae Lunam (Doom/Death Metal - Salvador, Bahia/Brazil), a manifestation with which, by the way, we are developing a split as well. This 4 way split was a release made by Sangue Underground Record (SP) in partnership with Desgraça Na Terra Records (ES) also, it came out in digipack and tape format. In 2022, there was the “Coltânea Orgia na Igreja Zine”, with Domminvs Infernalis (BA) / Ungodly Priest (PE) / Bode Profanador (Black/Death Metal - Vigia, Pará, Brazil) / Domminus Infernalium (Black Metal - Manaus, Amazonas ), released by Sangue Underground Records (SP) in CD + ZINE format.
In 2023 we released the demo: “Ritos Soturnos”.This year, on February 9, 2024, we released the single: “Coração de Bruxa”. On June 6th, in celebration of 10 years of Ancestral Cântico, we released the EP: “The Legacy (10 Years of Ancestral Cult)”, continuing the 10-year celebration, we also released on September 9th the compilation: “10 Anos de Batalha” and on October 31st our third full-length: “Hermético Caminho dos Saberes Ocultos”, which had been shelved since 2021, due to the pandemic of the coronavirus. We released these last 5 releases via Bandcamp, and our third album is about to be released in physical format (CD/K7) in Brazil by Sangue Underground Records and Jems Label from Muscatine, Iowa, United States.

You have recently released your album ''Hermético Caminho dos Saberes Ocultos''. What is the feedback from your audience as well as from the press?
So far all the feedback we have received has been positive. Especially those who have been with us since the beginning. Regarding the press, we were mentioned by: No Clean Singing from Seattle, United States in Album Reviews - Shades of Black, along with Sordide (France), Psychonaut 4 (Georgia), Amystery (Germany), Alta Rossa (France), Apothecary ( U.S.), Celepathy (Sri Lanka), Silhouette (France), Paysage d'Hiver (Switzerland), reviews by: Islander. Metal Eclipse Reviews from Sweden also mentioned us in the session: True kvlt, alongside Sledeon (Netherlands), Anasarca (Germany), Arkanist (Sweden), reviews by: Metalcatto. Here in Brazil, there was a note on the Lucifer Rex Magazine portal, by: Giovan Dias, who founded the printed fanzine The Glory of Pagan Fire Zine in the 90s and nowadays maintains the Warfare Book Zine with other zinesters, in addition to making contributions to others printed fanzines, published here in Brazil.

Interview with ANCESTRAL CANTICO - FILTHY DOGS OF METAL (2)

How did your cooperation with Sangue Underground Records occur? What do you prefer, Label or DIY and why?
I met Rafa (Rafael Martins) owner of Sangue Underground Records, through Jonathan Jacques better known as Hellthrasher Maniac, one of the insane minds behind: Algoz Profanador (Black/Thrash Metal - São Paulo, Brazil), Orgia Nuclear (Speed/ Thrash Metal - Serra, Espírito Santo, Brazil), Necrotrashers (Black/Thrash Metal, Punk - Serra, Espírito Santo, Brazil) and the aforementioned Catölishit, with whom we have a split. It was during the pandemic (end of 2020), I had met Hellthrasher Maniac when Ancestral Cântico went to play in Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil - a year earlier, in 2019. He stayed to visit us here in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil - Approximate distance From Recife to Salvador is 806 km, it takes approximately 10h 58m to drive. And he actually came and spent about 3 weeks here with us, during which time we agreed on Split: Ancestral Cântico/Catölishit. During this insanity I met Sharon Oskar (who printed the inserts for the first tapes released by Sangue Underground Records in partnership with Desgraça na Terra Records, the label/distro/producer of Hellthrasher Maniac). I initially contributed to designing the layouts, Sharon printed them and sent them to me to cut, so I could send them to Rafa to assemble and record the Tapes. We put together a metalhead system for metalhead/DIY. The last time I spoke to Rafa, SUR was on release number 58 if I'm not mistaken. Sangue Underground Records has practically launched an underground band from all corners of the world. For my happiness and that of many! Regarding the question of preferring Label or DIY... I think: Labels, producers or Distros that don't live or respect what they propagate, with the sole purpose of doing a good business and making everything a profitable process. Pleasing a certain group with products will never strengthen anything other than your own pockets. We are proud to have released our artifacts through the legendary São Paulo record label Secutor Brutal Music by Nefarious Herald, which, like us, has the essence and disseminated our artifacts in a practically artisanal process. Something very difficult to see nowadays. Something unique made by someone unique for people with a unique essence. There's Black Hearts Records by Paulo Oligavel Cardena, which develops top-quality artifacts of manifestations from the underground to the underground, and the evil Sangue Underground Records by Rafael Martins, a no-frills metalhead like us, who lives and does what he wants, strengthening the way he can the underworld and propagating the art of the damned who inhabit it!

Is there any funny or weird story from the recordings or from your live shows that you would like to share with us?
Chaos always reigns, but I'm always drunk to keep up with the chaos... And when someone reminds me what I did, I don't think it's funny, but everything works out in the end...

Do you prefer Vinyl, Tape, CD or Digital Format and why is that?
The vinyl is of superior quality! A perfect world for me would boil down to me being able to get the records I enjoy, having the latest generation stereo/turntable system, the best speakers money could buy, and a perfectly acoustically balanced listening room. That being said, we live in the digital age and art is almost treated as public domain these days. Most of us are guilty of consuming free media as it is ingrained in the current zeitgeist of society, and some platforms like Spotify perpetuate this in a pretty blatant way. It's difficult for artists of any kind to receive any significant return when they're not at the top. On the other hand, platforms like Bandcamp and YouTube, due to their design, are a little more adapted to the underground community. In my experience, both Bandcamp and YouTube allow people to find bands they wouldn't normally hear anywhere else. And the real connoisseurs who value art generally want to pay the band, sometimes more than is asked, because they unconditionally appreciate what is offered. Nowadays it is much easier to reach a worldwide audience as well. It's easier to make connections and the online metal community is huge and generally very supportive of those in the scene. I really enjoy the tape format and vinyl records. Listening to an artifact that was designed to be enjoyed from start to finish is a unique experience. And when that happens, such a connection becomes a magical and memorable moment until the end of the individual's existence, I am one of the many living proofs of this. It's okay that now you can make a playlist, with your favorite songs of a certain style that you like, but at the same time you shouldn't rule out that there is actually an album belonging to a track. And if there is an album around this track, at least check it out! I've noticed that people nowadays have a preference for listening to individual songs. I think this is so selective, and regrettable, because for an artist to make an album requires a lot of time and effort. And this work must be appreciated. In my opinion, CDs are the perfect mediation between analogue and digital, but unfortunately they are being eliminated. At the end of the day, a good song is a good song, and no matter how people hear it, as long as they hear it, in the end that's all that matters.

Your music style is Black Metal. Which are your main influences (Favourite Artists / Bands etc.)
The primary trinity for me is: Mercyful Fate, Venom and Bathory. I also have great influence from Necromantia, Rotting Christ (from the era of: Passage to Arcturus >>> Triarchy of the Lost Lovers) and Varathron, the supreme Hellenic trinity for me. Others that I could not fail to mention are: Darkthrone, Isengard, Hades (Hades Almighty from Norway) and Mütiilation from France. From Brazil, my main influences are bands that sing in Portuguese, I will mention my 3 favorites: Azul Limão do Rio de Janeiro (Vingança [Full-length] and the EP - Order & Progresso), Harppia (the EP - A Ferro and Fogo and 7 [Full-length]) and Salário Mínimo (Beijo Fatal - Full-length), the latter two both from the state of São Paulo. I really don't like to categorize Ancestral Cântico's sound into one genre. Although I understand that sometimes it is necessary. They classify us as representatives of what they understand or identify as Black Metal and we are satisfied with that. But this is still a summary in a nutshell of the complex purpose we try to unleash… For us, what we propagate is not just music but something else that cannot be completely described. This art is a deeper reality because it reveals pieces from within that might not otherwise have a chance to emerge. Art is nonverbal, well, mostly, but you don't need to explain, you don't need to wait for a response. This is freedom. When it comes to labels, we don't defend any, we don't like fans or any kind of fanatic. We respect connoisseurs, people who identify with what we do. For us, this wide range of genres and subgenres are mere musical references that don't mean much and don't guarantee anything, on the contrary, it's a way to massify and create an audience that most of the time is intruders and profiteers. I understand that people seem to have a need to associate us with a structure that they can relate to; That's why we decided not to make a fuss. Well, our real goal is to awaken the ancient spirit and make people question all the falsehoods they have been accommodated into. Being mere reflections of a society deeply mired in a flood of fake news, fake people, fake currency, fake food and fake environments, like poor bastards who have forgotten what it's really like to live in a natural environment, with intelligence, respecting their instincts and essence , for self-aware and strong survival opposing the subjugated and absurdly over-empathetic mentality with which we are being indoctrinated. They often associate us with Black Metal, trying to limit us with guesswork and silly teenage rules. Fuck All! We don't care about Black Metal today or from past decades, and the aforementioned scene matters to us even less. Ancestral Cântico is an individual act that does not need to be grouped with anything. Groups in extreme metal always become circles of sycophants, "cliques" and "sheepism", which is what the scene of yesterday and today is all about. It is easy to notice that there is a lot of noise nowadays; a lot of rubbish, a lot of copying and little essence. For me Black Metal has always been and will be Venom originality, innovation and feeling. I really admire the fact that in the beginning the bands sounded different like Bathory, which was faster and with rawer vocals and Mercyful Fate with its own identity, for example. But nowadays I observe that what should be important for the “scene” is the least important and even ridiculed by many.

Which things do you think a band should sacrifice in order to succeed? Have you ever sacrificed anything in your life for a better future for your band?
Success is something relative in my opinion, the success that many seek yesterday and today is status, but what really matters is the value we have in other people's lives. What we sacrifice for whatever we do is our precious time. The rest doesn't matter much, because we were born to die! Our future is death! I simply do what I like and what I want to do within my means. If I ever sacrificed something, I don't remember, but if it was sacrificed it's because it didn't matter!

It seems that you are inspired from occult stuff. Are you interested in / practicing some kind of magic/witchcraft?
I believe that music and witchcraft have gone together since the beginning. Witches use chants not only to create a magical atmosphere, but as part of their spells. The mix of music and witchcraft was not lost to time and deadly witch hunts. We received the call from the gods to celebrate this mystical connection between music, art, witchcraft, ancestry in tune with nature, which connects us to the ancient gods, to revive ancestral knowledge. Witchcraft is a practice that has ancestry as a sacred and fundamental part of its principles. Today we can only practice this form of spirituality because in the past people cared about building something that surpassed time until it reached the present day! Thus, we are also the ancestors of the next generation that will follow this path and, based on this reflection, become aware that, for this legacy to remain alive, it is necessary to continue writing this story and not just passing on what has already been written. Our magical practice, belief and life experience have always been aligned with each other, therefore, all our personal human development processes have always been linked to the steps we have taken on our journey. Nature plays a very important role in our lives, we seek to evolve and become aware of what we consume, always valuing the health of our bodies and in an ecologically sustainable way, always committed to our planet. We worship plants, and establish a connection with them, especially those that are in our domain in a unique and very special way, we recognize ourselves in each one of them and become more intimate with mother earth. In witchcraft, the sacred is understood as both immanent and transcendent. Which means that we recognize the divinity that we are and that lives within us, just as we worship it outside of ourselves and in what we propagate. There is no witchcraft without nature, which makes caring for the environment a call from the gods, a commitment to the planet is a duty, given the chaotic reality in which we see the planet sinking into environmental catastrophes, scarcity of natural resources, extinction of animals, global warming, increased violence and extreme poverty in the world. Therefore, we understand that thinking about practical alternatives for preservation is one of the most important crafts of witchcraft, our spirituality is reflected in our greatest temple which is the Earth itself, and there is no more vivid and real experience with witchcraft than getting closer to the gods and initiating deeper contact with the ancients, connecting us with the life that pulses on the planet and establishing a healthy relationship with nature. By our side we have H.A.T.T.E. a witch and healer, who practices her magic at home, in everyday life. She ritualizes it in her routine habits, bringing the power of leaves, words, food, seeds and roots. We need to nourish ourselves with the best, respecting our body-temple. This also includes fighting for the agendas we believe in and defending a more dignified and less racist, sexist and unequal society.

Describe your ideal live show as a performance band. Have you already experienced that?
Full house, cheap beer, without anyone bothering you or criticizing you for what you consume or don't consume, an atmosphere of friendship and companionship among the public; makes any space special! Yes, I've experienced this one way or another, although I don't remember much about it. Good thing there's always someone recording it on video or giving positive feedback...

Live at Blasphemy The Holy Trinity 2

What attributes do you think that a new Black Metal Band should have in order to gain identity and be unique?
A band or whoever it is, has to do what it likes, regardless of the public or the people who pressure it, for it to be one way or another... The only real Black Metal is Venom's album!

You have been an active band almost 10 years! Are there any changes in the band as well as in the Brazilian Metal Scene within all those years?
At first we were a duo (Me and H.A.T.T.E.), so we recorded the first album in 2015… From 2017 to 2021 we remained in a power trio with Malevolus taking over the drums. In 2020 we tried a quintet where I passed the vocalist position to Lord Profane Kataris. But it didn't work out and we went back to the power trio format. Today we stabilize in a sextet… I find it very difficult to talk about the underground scene here without mentioning the same problems of yesterday and today... But, come on, despite people saying that Brazil has a lot of metal, I think the movement/scene in general is very weak, apart from some shows and festivals that occasionally exceed expectations. It can be strong in the artistic sense and in the varieties of musical proposals from interesting people making good music. But it is not economically sustainable and therefore people cannot reconcile and have to choose between playing or surviving. Things here are very expensive and with each passing day, things get more expensive… To give an example, I remember that in 1998, 10 loaves of bread cost R$1, today 10 loaves of bread is more than R$5… This reflects on acquisition of anything, mainly in the acquisition of instruments and the organization of extreme metal shows, which is extremely anti-commercial here in Brazil, especially in the state of Bahia, northeast of the country where we live and to a certain extent in the rest of Brazilian territory…

Do you believe that Digital Platforms help the new Black Metal Bands? Which, do you think, is the ideal way for a band to promote its work?
A real Black Metal band needs everything, except publicity (joke)...Digital is more inclusive, makes access easier and less expensive. This in a third world country makes a lot of difference. For me, every form of underground promotion for the underground is valid, I personally still really enjoy leafing through a good printed zine, besides the nostalgia/tradition it is a way of connecting with the roots of the underworld. In the virtual world everything comes down to an immediate experience; everything is photographed and posted on Instagram with hashtags that bring together what seems to be more of the same, taking away the impact and creating little discourse about the underground scene nowadays. I think that personally discussing the current moment the movement is going through and reflecting the vision we obtain from this medium is important. The underground space, especially for those who are younger, is a space for training, whether it is having contact with art and ideas propagated by new bands or meeting new people with different ideas but similar in some point of view or who have common tastes. I think this is super important and I'm happy when I meet young people who still value the real world.

Do you see any differences between the Brazilian Metal Market & the EU Metal Market (Labels, Bands, Fans etc)?
The exchange rate for Euros to Brazilian Reais today is €1.00 = R$6.15. Anyone who listens to and lives Metal in our country is considered a pariah, this musical style here has no prestige among the mass population, no presence in the mainstream media, radio and, therefore, in the lives of the inhabitants of this country. The dream of most bands here, from any segment, is to record CDs and play abroad, leave here and do well in Europe. Touring and returning to Brazil with prestige, to play at the best festivals and receive good fees. Having goods for sale in European physical stores and in virtual ones with worldwide distribution, even though the music market is disfigured by illegal downloads of digital music and the complete change in the concepts of art commercialization in the 21st century. I myself wanted to be able to buy a property in any corner of Europe, and live close to the massive concert circuits with good audiences that I only see on the internet. Getting to know the public and countries such as France, Germany, Italy and Greece.

Tell us a few things about the New Underground Metal Scene in Brazil (Bands, Fanzines, Webzines, Metal Clubs etc.)
We have contacts with many manifestations of the underworld, apart from those I mentioned previously: Kastiphas - Death/Black Metal, Nigrae Lunam - Doom/Death Metal, Lamentos - Melodic Doom/Death Metal, Umbral dos Martires - Black Metal, Vox Satanas - Black Metal, GomorraA - Black/Thrash Metal, M.D - Death Metal/Grindcore/Crust Punk, Necrológio - Death Metal, Arma - Blackened Speed Metal/Punk, Primitive - Black/Thrash Metal, Tümulo - Black/Heavy/Speed Metal, among others with which we will certainly do a split when possible… Here in Brazil the printed zine scene is still very rich, we have already given interviews to a reasonable number of printed zines: Akkeldama Zine #10 by Tiagão de Planaltina/DF, Éter Zine #2 by Kleberson Korpa from Brasília/DF, Orgia Na Igreja Zine #2 by Bellicus Libertinus from Manaus/AM, Compendium Mortis Zine by the warrior Josilene from Caucaia/CE, Death Metal Zine #46 by Andrey de Teixeira de Freitas/BA, Noctem Malefícis Zine #1 by Pa Zv Zv from Salvador/BA, for Anhang'-aba-u Zine #3 by Anonymous Anhangá by Vera Cruz/BA, Entering No Fogo Eterno Zine by Misael Pains Teixeira de Freitas/BA. We cannot fail to mention the interview given to the general director of Anaites Records, who edited the zines Anaites and Guerreiros Zineiros: Hiordeman Zartan Nunes Freitas from São José do Ribamar/MA, who did an interview with us for the now extinct Lucifer portal Rising Magazine. Others that I cannot fail to mention are Turvo Zine and Noctâmbulo Zine by Tadeu Ricardo from De Profundis Prod.! Metal houses that have my high esteem are undoubtedly: Darkside, an essential center for the counterculture scene in the Metropolitan Region of Recife, Pernambuco and the Northeast and Brothers of Metal Beer Live, a great supporter of underground and culture which is located on the outskirts of Salvador, Bahia, in the Cajazeiras X neighborhood.

Do you know anything about the Hellenic Metal Scene?
As I said before: Necromantia, Rotting Christ (from the era of: Passage to Arcturus - Triarchy of the Lost Lovers) and Varathron is the supreme Hellenic trinity for me and a great influence. I also know: Kawir, Thou Art Lord, Zemial, Caedes Cruenta, Cult of Eibon and more recently - Yoth Iria and The Magus.

In the last 4 years, worldwide in the world, we have faced many dark, strange, and new situations in our everyday lives (covid, lockdown, etc.). Did all of this affect you positively or negatively?
My life has been hard and difficult for so long, that I no longer know how to evaluate whether what happens in my life is good or bad… For a long time I have observed the fragility of human life, unfinished dreams and shattered hopes. How desperately people run, as if they could escape the inevitable. They fight against time, ignoring that each breath is a step closer to the end. Not long ago we went through the COVID-19 pandemic, where I saw many suddenly cease to exist. Abandoned dreams, people giving up what they most wanted out of fear and insecurity, knowing that death is an inevitable part of existence. I see that many people don't understand that life is an ephemeral gift and that we shouldn't waste our valuable time. We have to enjoy every moment with intensity, courage, passion and authenticity. For only in this way can we reach the true essence. That's why I continue drinking and smoking until the day it becomes fertilizer, that is, of course, if in the end I was good for it.

What are your future plans?
I want to finish the development phase of the splits, with: Nigrae Lunam - Doom/Death Metal from Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, Umbral dos Mártires - Black Metal from Caucaia, Ceará, Brazil, M.D - Death Metal/Grindcore/Crust Punk from São Paulo , Brazil. Then I want to go into the studio to re-record the tracks from the first album from 2015, to celebrate the first decade of its existence, in a Live Album version, with the current lineup. I also want to edit the files from the last time we played live, which was on September 21st, this year (2024), at Blasphemy The Holy Trinity 2, with Kastiphas and Arkhôn Tôn Daimoniôn to release on CD/DVD.

Thank you very much for your time & keep up the good work! The closure is yours.
They will say what they think is right... I don't listen to them, I don't need help to find my way. Once I had a problem, I didn't know what to do... Now I don't have any more problems, because the problems are part of me! Leave me alone, all I want in this world is to be free! It doesn't matter what they say about my appearance! Because, I don't want to be like them, I just want to be myself. As I sit here, wondering where I am, just here I am... There are people who walk in the shadows like shooting stars, others who follow blindly... Whoever chases me, know that I will not run or hide! Know that your life depends on you... So be careful when you falter... Well, I will be behind you! Thank you very much Stavros for existing and maintaining Filthy Dogs Of Metal. It's a great honor for Ancestral Cântico to be on FILTHY DOGS OF METAL WEBZINE!
